Today's gas prices where I'm from. I always put premium gas in my car. https://image.nostr.build/4feb466d1230e724b9741737899c8f70c72246cb14f259db30606da98f009b8e.jpg
Those are similar to CA gas prices.
Most car manufactures post 2005 recommend the lowest octane level gas (87) because the higher octanes burn to hot for their cheap engine blocks to handle and it will damage them. At least they recommend putting in the cheaper gas into their cheap ICE engines.
Yeah, they recommend that so your engine can get filled with sludge and then you have to take it in for maintenance.
It's the ethanol that comes in all fuels that does that. That additive got approved to be added into all fuels sometime in the early 2000's. You can find gas dealers that sell ethanol free fuel. Its more expensive but less expensive then the maintenance you are talking about. I use ethanol free fuel for all my tools like my chainsaw, generators, weed whipper, leaf blower ect...
If you're not tuned for it, the higher octane does nothing for your performance, or 'deposit removal'. It's a complete waste of your money. You'll get more mileage (literally) by pumping your tires up a few PSI.
My car needs it. I have turbo i have a few things. Plus i have the mileage counter thing and 87 or 89 dont get me mileage like 93 does stop listening to car dealer people they want your car damaged
