What’s a normie? What changes when you fall into the rabbit hole? These questions keep bugging me
A normie is someone who is comfortably numb.
Someone whose thinking is within the zeitgeist and the Overton Window. Someone who would struggle to comprehend a completely different approach and system as compared to that which is already in place.
Zeitgeist and Overton window are big pieces of the puzzle I think. They chose self-limitation in general but why and what changes this?
Why - many people are sheeple. What changes this - alternatives (Bitcoin? nostr?) go mainstream.
Im not certain bitcoin will have the same transformative impact in late adopters it had in early adopters.
I’ve had this thought.
Yes but if Bitcoin succeeds it will show late adopters the opportunity costs of not thinking outside the box. This is what I want for people at large: never giving in, positive thinking, stop licking the suits’ boots.
I learned my lesson during the plandemic. Some people are not made for this.
Agreed but there’s still value in mentioning these things from time to time - if only to help you curate who to spend your precious time with.
I’ve enjoyed our little chat fellow stranger on the internet. https://media.tenor.com/ZXiGaTgCV5kAAAAC/jake-paul-mike-tyson.gif
I have no idea how we're here but we're chosen is some way. The normie is just so different from us.
It feels exactly like that sometimes!
The only logical explanation based on all available evidence
When you choose life, life chooses you.
Exactly that. Normies choose to HFSP and so they shall.
Ppl plugged into the matrix still
What if the matrix is plugged into a bigger matrix?
Idk but something (God) created it all
Is the creator conscious?
I don’t see how not
Can’t believe a photo would be, since god created man in his own image, ignorant of time. It’s a kinda gullible story.
Profound question, Searching for truth beyond mainstream narratives leads to transformative personal growth. Stepping outside the overton window and prevailing cultural narratives by adopting Bitcoin. Also questioning and analyzing the prevailing narratives and zeitgeist led to the most profound changes in my worldview and personality I’ve experienced.
Sounds true. Stepping outside the confines of the stories being told is a big part of it, but why do some do it and others refuse?
I think this answer is maybe to be found in the difference between truth and comfort.. Meaning one seeks truth as highest goal and is therefore ready and willing to adapt, another one „just“ strives for a comfortable existence and therefore doesn’t like challenges to his status quo. Maybe…? ..your question definitely makes me think about this a bit more
I think you are right. We usually think of comfort and convenience as nice to have, but it's actually a need to have: energy conservation. From that point of view, it's actually a generally wise move not to think too much, not to question too much, because that takes a lot of energy. There's a point where the surplus of convenience tips the balance into a lack of vital information that, if you had it, would have made you make a completely different decision, but because you didn't, you double down. Maybe that's what makes a normie: doubling down when the dominant cognitive strategy has failed.
