It's caused by mycelium, I think it's called an angel circle or something. Expect to see mushrooms growing in that circle soon! No idea why grass love it, will look it all up now...
Interesting, my guess was fungal activity but the near perfect circle threw me. It's about 6 feet in diameter. We have had quite a bit if rain of late so it makes sense.
