I need something like this to be part of an "Invite to Group Chat" where I can Uncle Jim the living zaps out them. At least that's what I'm designing for 😜
I am interested on a design to onboard new "family and friends" users with a complete lightning address + nwc connection out of the box, borrowing the alby hub account at the start and one-click spinning off from it into their own hub/node when they are ready. How much time are you putting on this? :) Do you want to collab?
I believe they may be looking at the option to use an isolated hub connection as the backend for an different AlbyHub. This could be the start for your friends and then when they are ready they are already used to the interface and can begin to manage their own channels and liquidity.

Yup, onboarded my brother (he was using alby custodially) and haven't heard of any issues. I'm also the type to just run another WoT realy if I was onboarding him to Nostr (he's already on and hasn't asked for this, yet).
So, is your brother using your Node even today? Can he receive sats and zap just fine?
Yes to all of the above. No lightning address unless he attaches it to alby account which he hasn't yet
Yes but only via an isolated connection to their AlbyHub extension. My enthusiasm did not quite rub off on them though and they have not used it or nostr since 🥲

Ah totally glossed over your second question about Nostr, lol. I suppose it would just need to be really normie friendly... like just them scanning a QR code you provide to start. That would then invite them to a "managed" or sub account (can a nsec generate another npub address?). Ideally they wouldn't have to configure anything to start other than a name and optional profile pic. They should inherit your relay setup, etc. The tricky bit is I don't know enough about the Nostr protocol to know if it's possible to export someones notes to a new identify? I'm guessing probably not, but at some point they'd want/need to be able to manage their own nsec.
