Yeah I practice in a 16ft Sailfish, I'm doing up my old 26' Colvic ready for longer term trips, she would have been ready long ago but she's been through 2 big storms which have caused all sorts of issues 😆

I love that you guys need a permit to sail..."please sir, may I kindly have your permission to float on the water?" 🤣

Jokes aside, I bet you can't wait - are you gonna be sailing for fun and leisure or are you looking to live aboard and travel?  

 Oh, you don't even know. It's fucked. There are multiple licenses. I'm getting the third most basic one: only motor boats, up to 15 meters long, and only 12 miles off the coast xD So, not even sailboats, and I can't even go to the closest island from where I am, which is 100 miles away. 

 Oh and to top it all, apparently it's valid only within Spanish waters because Spain doesn't adhere to the international treaty that convalidates boat licenses -- even though they accept foreign licenses! But it's not reciprocated because reasons (basically it's because Spain is a third world socialist country that regulates leisure boating under the jurisdiction of the Merchant Fleet instead of being like a normal civilized country) 

 That's crazy - apparently I need qualifications if I'm going to bring her to Spain...mad, when I can just sail at my own leisure, all around the UK. If anyone told us we needed permission to float here they'd get told to fuck off 😆 

 I think you wouldn't have any problem if you brought your own boat over here. What you may not be able to do is rent one locally. Although I am certain many British tourists and residents do, so I don't know. You don't have any sort of piece of paper that says you "can" handle a boat, at all? 

 Nothing, I mean, they're available but not essential, I think they actually let Darwin have his way in at least one area of our lives
