I am just bone-tired of Christianity becoming a religion where we are to worship the rich and sneer at the poor.
Can we sneer at the corrupt? That sounds like a group sport!
 Let’s do it
 "they" sneer @ Us u get what u give/fairplay
So I guess we should oppress and steal from them by that metric?
 stay in love/ my sneer is quirky/ Statsats /learn cycles/just liv'n
 not an arbiter
 & i don't like guess'n/ u r the artist/ lollfg/
Just hard fork it like the other Christian denominated religions
They're forking off, as we speak.
I love forking off when I'm not wanted.
Catholicism is already a fork. Come back to the master branch. ☦️
That’s a soft fork. The original branch is Judaism 😂
You could argue it's not a fork of Judaism, but a new release that deprecated some old features.
No way it’s Judaism cash 😂
No, more like SegWit, becausethe incarnation was already on the development roadmap – *cough* prophecy – for a long time.
You can't force people to upgrade to the latest version... 😃
Okay, we got the Orthodox ad out of the way and can continue with our regularly-scheduled program. 🙄
the real Church is an open protocol, not an institution
 my spiritual journey is P2p
It is, but I'm a fan of a particular priestly blockchain.
 Hahahahah that's not Christianity
Churchianity. New version of the prosperity gospel.
I didn’t know that the Christian religion worshipped people.🤔
 We do now, apparently.
 So bad
Is this your church or group of friends? Kind of weird that you are defining all capital C Christianity in this way. It never is and never was that.
I never said all Christians are like this.

I'm just noticing the increasing tendency to worship money itself and therefore associate virtue with "having money" and vice with "not having money".
 That god is called Mammon.
Yes, we must guard our hearts. Admiring the beauty and elegance of money and seeing it as a useful tool, is a dangerous dance.
It sure is a dangerous dance. In Protestant circles, where I'm mostly around, people tend to reduce any thoughts about money to the quotation that money is the root of all evil.

Going down the bitcoin rabbit whole has opened my eyes to how much more there is to say and think about this issue.

At the same time, I belong to a Christian community where 'poverty' is one of the virtues being held up high, along with chastity and obedience. So sometimes I even feel insecure about saving in bitcoin cause could cause some conflict of interest.
Being without any wealth frees your mind and your thoughts from being preoccupied with other stuff besides trying to learn to love God and and my neighbor.
I haven't seen Christians worshipping or idolizing the rich. In my circles it is almost the opposite. What I see, all too often, is Christians talking about politicians like they are saviors and treating the American flag like an idol and destroying anyone who doesn't treat their idol with proper respect. I like our flag, but I don't pledge allegiance to it (my allegiance is to God alone) and I treat it with general respect, but don't have a fit if someone else doesn't. I think one politician is significantly better than another, but even the best, someone like Ron Paul, still has his faults and is unable to fix the mess we are in.

Politicians should not be treated like gods or saviors and the flag should not be treated like an idol.
Yes, agreed. Politicians, like the wealthy, are mere men.
I'm going around knocking on doors to get people to buy tickets to buy uniforms for my local youth baseball team. The more tickets I sell, the better chance I have to go see the great baseball team in the big city. When I knock on those doors, I tell them, when I get to the stadium in that far off city I'm going to yell and cheer for our professional baseball team the most and I'm going to get everyone from our side to yell for our team too! Believe me, I'll be the biggest and loudest voice in that stadium and I'll make a difference for you!

I see too much idolization of the wealthy, unfortunately, especially anyone famous or who has mastered some get-rich-quick scheme.

Also the insistence that everyone who is rich has provided value to society, as if no poor people have and that is even the thing that is most important.

Humans are valuable, in their own right. That is how Christ sees us.
There was a warning about false churches...
