Listening to some content creators explain their "engagement and reach tricks" and its incredible how they base all their actions and content on the algorithm. Its's not about providing value anymore. It's clearly about pleasing the algo. The algo-slaves gen
Putos drogadictos! https://youtu.be/SmePMH_dvto
molaria un Ibai en Nostr o alguien de ese perfil, reventaría todo
Todos acabarán utilizando nostr en algún momento. Quizá no se darán ni cuenta
Or, to put it more simply, they know a trick. 🤢
🎯
Please algo, get more views, make more money, get more ads, get more ad dollars. Broken incentives everywhere
PLEASE
Yeah true Luna pero to provide value to their users their content to be seen. So if the algorithm doesn't show it, no value right?
So they become slaves in order to get reach and provide value? Slaves nevertheless
This is what made Twitter unbearable for me. You can see plain as day what “strategies” people are using for engagement farming all for the benefit of themselves. While I understand the motive and the growing importance of having a presence / network on social media for a variety of reasons, it still doesn’t make it any less gross.
Ego driven. 0 value provided. And the best is that if you provide value, doesnt matter becausr you are in the hands of the algo. You voice might or might not get reach.
What an exhausting way to live
Exactly. They have a master
This is exactly what I experienced. I run a very small educational page on ig. The amount of effort you need to put in to get some more views are incredible: - post N times per day/week - some kind of content gets more reach (i.e. reels) - upload stories And so on and on. Unbearable.
Today I heard that in IG and TT what works is quantity over quality. We are back to the starting point of the mass media
what is the logical explanation for why algorithms are this way ? is it just to encourage people to put out more content ? or something more sinister ?
I do not think is about something sinister. I think it’s more connected to maximization of interactions. The more you put content on a platform, the more people will look at it and more data can be gained for advertising and so on. Whatever gets more views becomes more popular, if you notice. Violence, political debates, scandals and so on.
Do live shows like we do. You feel alive interacting with an audience. No editing time, no second guessing an redoing... just talk and go. Nobody cares if you make a mistake. Its liberating.
I do that too. It was "interesting" to understand how they function. Sad though
