I’m getting popcorn for the McCarthy vs Gaetz showdown. Hey “moderate” Republicans who are at know the meaning of “bipartisan”, remember when everyone told you that a huge chunk of your party mates are awful, terrible people? This is our I-told-you-so. We weren’t kidding. But now what are you going to do about it? Are you going to continue to placate those horrid people, or will you start working with others to represent the majority of Americans? Do you stand with the 75% or the 25%?

@edbba727 This is honestly pretty sad. I may be wrong, but as a casual observer it looks to me like McCarthy made at least a half-assed effort to keep the gov't running, which meant keeping literal MILLIONS of people working and able to provide for themselves (shutdowns mean "no paycheck"). Meanwhile the rest of The Party(TM) wants to crucify him for not trying to score another ideological victory at the cost of those peoples' livelihoods. Shows where their priorities really lie.
