We have DM and long-form content. Perhaps we should also consider creating a "Newsletter" service.

Everything can happen on top of Nostr. You could also consider paywalling it with Zapit or adopting a subscription for your newsletters.

It shouldn't be that difficult. It also seems very logical. Do you want something like this? 🤔
Maybe we can get @LynAlden to let people subscribe to her newsletter via nostr instead of email. I’d rather pay her in sats than cuckbucks!
Hmm. The Substack community may like or want this.
 100%

this is going into Highlighter 2.1

I should probably write a public roadmap of where I'm taking Highlighter.
 This is exciting 🔥
I’d like to put a lot of my transcripts on here, but what would you recommend for binding my npub to it?
 Fuck yes
zapit can do right now ? or cannot do recurring
We haven't built this yet, I was just pointing out, we have all the building block.
LynAlden, woonomic and many others economists cum bitcoiners / fintech persons have monthly newsletters is FIAT / CARD - they can look into using service n integrate with their portal (custom part may be)
Maybe @PABLOF7z already made this. It's hard to keep up with his output.
Ok, what's a name of the service, do you have any link?
No it was kind of a joke, although I wouldn't be surprised if he had something in the works.
 Jokes becoming reality 🤣🤣🤣

Beg pardon if I sound fractious, but isn’t The Nostr Report filling this niche? Or do you mean something more newsy?
I was thinking of something, people outside nostr can also use 🤔
 Yes. I get you now.
 Sounds good 👌
yeah, I have something like this in the works for Highlighter
Absolutely. A substack replacement/alternative would be fantastic
Unfollowed for mentioning "paywall" shit 🤮

Either post or don't, stop pretending you can paywall text like some controlling faggot. If journalism isn't paid work anymore, tough shit
Paying for food you consume is good, but paying for content you consume is bad?

I hate paywalls as much as the next person. However, that doesn't mean they're bad and we should kill them with fire. It means that we must improve them to make them better.
I mean, this is exactly how I think about paywalls. I don't like them, but they are very efficient way to monetize, they can be also use for automating payment confirmation process.
It's gotta hurt your brain to force such bullshit through it, you know
I do have a problem with paywalls, in that I do not know what it is I am paying for. What if it is bad? That is why the paywall should direct on other stuff. Not for accessing content but other things. But internet has a tendency to be free, so it is difficult to monetize.
The main problem with "paywalls" is there are 3 reasonable choices for how to handle a "paywall"

1. Ignore the bullshit some idiot who likes "paywalls" wrote
2. Find it somewhere else hosted for free
3. Pay to copy it somewhere else so you can make sure the "paywall" fan isn't avoiding all public scrutiny

So they're not really paywalls, they're webpages that ask if you'd like to give money to an idiot and maybe be accused of thievery for posting screenshots lol
My vision would be that someone comes home from a job, has gained good sats, looks to his server and says: well I have a good job so I can pay my server maintainance costs and not worry. The users of those sites also have to work and also gain sats. If someome fails to run the server, someome else will step in and use his hard earned sets to give others the possibility to communicate via his server.

The real costs is earned by everyone in the real world, leaving the internet a free in freedom amd free in beer, space that you can visit.
Paying for content you consume is good

Asking this question in the context of "paywalls" shows you're retarded

Then again, that was already clear from your pandemic denial and dogecoin FUD
The matters that matters is the efficiency in which it can be shared.

If the nostr protocol has a significant edge in decentralization or efficiency in distributing, compared to websites, torrents, ftp or other possible methods of data transfers, it is worth it. Otherwise I wouldn't see the value of it that much...
There is definitely no better person than @PABLOF7z to make this a reality.

Remember, we just have to get one product right. That product will become a catalyst for new adoption. It's all connected 🤜🤛

This could be that product 🤔

This is 💯 where I’m headed and it will be a reality shortly.

Its going to be aimed at newbies and I’ll optimize the onboarding flow very carefully
oh that would be really awesome! hopefully @NostReport will be the first „client“ of this 😉
we were discussing this a while back: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/issues/797

I have plans to integrate something like this to zapthreads
If you guys gonna implement it, it would be great to agree on the mechanism nostr:nprofile1qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75spz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgnwaehxw309ac82unsd3jhqct89ejhxtcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp00ugyzc
