Interesting. I knew about bad sleep affecting insulin release and increasing carb cravings, which then makes for bigger insulin spikes the next day, disrupting sleep the next night and ending in a vicious circle. I can confirm that this is definitely the case for me. If i sleep bad i eat worse the next day and it takes a long of discipline to get out of that cycle once i've been doing that for 2 or 3 days. To break it i either plan my day away from home and have just the meals i know i need to eat with me (usually eggs and some meat) and ensure there's no easy way to get anything else (by hiking the whole day for example) or i muster up all the discipline i can and try to fast 24 hours to break the cycle.
