Square could normalize Bitcoin payments for mainstreet. Imagine, thousands of small businesses asking, "Are you paying in bitcoin today?" Because making clean UX to the customer reinforces the normalcy of the question.
small businesses wont want to loose a bunch of money on fees and when the jews decide to lower the Bitcoin price by selling it off
We have to do it ourselves.
I use Zeus for when it happens.
Meetups are our best shot at making bitcoin payments ubiquitous. Businesses will not want to accept bitcoin if it won't bring more customers. BTCpayServer has come a long way. We just need education.
I hear ya, grass roots has gotten us this far. We need it in people's faces as a normal built in feature. You know all those places that turn the square screen at you? If it showed bitcoin as first option..
I know a guy who sideloaded BTCpayServer onto a Toast POS terminal st a couple fast food restaurants, but it's just a website. A $60 tablet or old smart phone would work.
I have Zeus on android that is linked to Square. I am talking mass appeal. National marketing.
Jack Mallers tried that, but suits are a tough nut to crack. Small businesses will also be hard, but I'm optimistic. We need better marketing and a bitcoin geek squad willing to help set up infrastructure.
building circular economies is super hard if they already have good payment options.
Tell me about it. :/
Well it depends on what Geo location you are in. If you mean US markets, its gonna be slow molasses Take a look at places like South Africa instead, where their fiat is super weak and keeps getting weaker and not much banking infra.
