The ~200k coins belong to Bitfinex and their customers. They should be returned, not used as collateral for more murdering and plundering.
What's the story here? I wasn't here early enough to have watched it happen. Is bitfinex a foreign company? How did they justify stealing the btc?

I see your point but I strongly disagree. I'd prefer my govt to have a stake in this game. Dump the gold sure...but not the Bitcoin. Also Gold was stolen just like Bitcoin... Besides what moral value is there here? Folks aren't getting it back. Govt still profiting from it... we should hold it. Honestly Fuck Biden for this bullshit.

This is positive. Instead of the government sitting on its hands and just keeping the Bitcoin and calling it a reserve, they will have to go to the market and buy - that is 100x the signal to other nation states to do the same, than just holding on to some that they happened to steal.
All coins seized by any government should be burned. That includes SR and Bitfinex coins. Apart from Bhutan and El Salvador, all government holdings are predicated on theft. Every sat returns to its rightful owner given enough time. From the impatient to the patient, from the hackers to the victims, from ponzi governments to the plebs.
