I don't know why... Maybe it's because I've been traveling the world over the past year meeting so many Nostriches and having the best time of my life building new and true relationships or maybe it's because I'm in my 40s and I'm having some sort of mid-life thing going on, but I have never felt more of an urge than I have before to take my family and move somewhere completely foreign. I've been thinking about this for a while. I don't think I'd act in these impulses, but I do find it interesting how often I've been thinking about this recently. 👀
Done it, not worth it. Grass is not greener on the other side 🐶🐾🫡 (also midlife thing)
Why not worth it? Traveling is cheaper in the long run?
Moving is a stressful and painful thing for everyone involved in the process. It does not outweigh the benefits unless you are living in a shithole 🐶🐾🫡
Moving countries 🐶🐾🫡
If everything you own fits in a backpack and suitcase, it’s not too bad.
I'm assuming you live in the U.S., but I can sympathize given how corrupt and tyrannical things are becoming
I do and I live in a very rural area. I absolutely love it here. I'm just feeling bored and anxious.
Get a puppy 😁
Katie has been wanting a second doggy 👀
I hope we see pictures 😁😂
I honestly don't want a second dog. I love dogs and have always had a dog my whole life, but taking care of two of them seems like a lot to me. Plus, getting a puppy would seriously hinder our activities. We'll see.

Be careful. The grass is always greener over the fence.
I love my yard 🥹
I never thought I’d have a family in Japan but one day we just said let’s move and we did. It was on a whim but the best decision.
I'm sure that was a wild experience.
I don't see the harm in trying it out, get your toes wet and see if it's for you. We're a family of five and we've been living between Europe and North America, we've had mostly good experiences. It helps that the cultural shock isn't so great (if we compare Europe to Asian countries) and that we homeschool.
I feel you ! I am also experiencing some sort of midlife crisis. I feel grateful but impatient to reach the next stage, at the same time.

I bought property off grid in the Arizona desert. Honestly it’s almost like being in a foreign country … 🤣🤣 https://image.nostr.build/110f66fd1ec0d0fcf33afe8e4e36d229f5b840c66a03bc15744ac033458c967f.jpg
It's not part of the midlife crysis. I am much younger than that and yet I feel like there is no future in western civilization. But then again fleeing is not a good solution. Especially if you love your country, your land, you will try to fix things.
My spouse + I are in the midst of planning the same. It's not a mid-life crisis. It's the Sovereign Individual thesis playing out in real time, as we accelerate into an unknown future: Technocrats Fascism vs Bitcoin Renaissance So, we move to build the future. Godspeed + best of luck 🫂
same here. my wife, 2 little girls and i packed a few bags, gave everything else away and moved down here to acapulco 6 years ago. smartest thing we ever did. work from home, get paid in cryptos only. f*ck taxes, banks, papers, all their tools against us. im 53.
So, I spent my teen years in the US Virgin Islands. I hated it at first; the folks moved us literally on my 12th birthday, but looking back I think exposure to a totally different culture was a very beneficial, character building experience for me.😃
The Sovereign Individual playing out in real time. I’m in the process of getting a second citizenship. Will I move, maybe. Will it give my family options, yes. Love the idea of governments competing for its citizens. Go and try a couple places for several months before you obtain residency. Then you’ll be ready if and when the time comes.
