 It would depend upon when his philandering began, I think. Would have to be a reflection of the state he was in when he entered the marriage. 
 People find annulments unnerving, so many prefer to just not know, and some churches don't seem to bother having the elders examine this sort of thing.

Everyone concentrates on the civil paperwork stuff, now, I suppose. It's all become very state-driven.

 Annulments are brutal. That would upset me so much more than a divorce. Like, OMG, this whole time...

I know someone whose marriage was annulled and he needed psychological treatment for years. Said it was as if a paternity test had come back without a match, after you'd been raising the kid for years. 
 Just realized that bringing this up with her might be a bad idea. 
 Yeah that's insane. I can't even imagine.
