Enchantments Backpacking: Wrap Some final photos of my trip. The Enchantments are truly a great experience. Huge granite mountains in the middle of the Cascades. Rugged hiking with route finding. Good campsites. Many toilets, if you’re into that kind of camping. Water galore. The hiking was tougher than climbing to 8,300 feet on Mount Jefferson, but well worth it. #Backpacking #PNW #WashingtonState #Photography #Hiking #Walking #Nature #Outdoors #Mountains #Landscape #LandscapePhotography https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/133/980/891/034/926/original/799992929c5aead5.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/133/975/882/021/640/original/ed594ace27e32299.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/133/976/538/369/797/original/0a5eb3ec5e5e6cf9.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/133/976/219/991/660/original/493294e3b1044b52.jpeg
@c531994e It’s such a beautiful place. The landscape loos a lot like the Sierra. Thanks for sharing and the hard work! ^^
@3b73b038 I’m just learning about this but there is a controversial theory in the geology world that the granite shifted from Baja California some 50 million years ago or something like that when the west coast was underwater.
@c531994e @50698f08 some years ago we got a permit for upper snow lake and then dayhiked into the Enchantments. From the topos we thought that would be pretty easy. Narrator: it was not easy. However, it was astonishingly beautiful. A really special place.
@c531994e Beautiful images 😊 Have a wonderful time ☀️
