 It’s nice but I need to remind myself I don’t need to shoot in 1.8 all the time 😅 

 Yep, it will be at its softest and shallowest at max aperture. A stop down or two is where it’s at unless you want a greater depth of field. However, a fully open aperture and resulting soft shallow bokeh can really work with subjects close to the lens that fill the frame.
