 i'm a big fan of shrink-tube... that could get you a long way if it impedes bending past the critical angle

or better to just buy new one and reinforce it?

 I think it could maybe keep it in the state it currently is. But its possible that the cable already has some kind of damage, there are data lines and power lines, if a data line is broken it can still charge for example. I'd probably buy a new one
