@theo h. mann I fucked up this bad once.

My immediate reaction was to take the pan outside and let it burn itself out. It was raining, so everything worked itself out pretty fast.
the fire needs oxygen, all she had to do was put the lid on it.
or if she has no lid then a pot, or even a blanket.
had a crease fire once when some oil splashed on the hot stove top.
i just put the pan on the fire and it was out.
AWRIGHT DIS HERE DUH NINTH STEP AND IT AIN'T OPTIONAL, LEAVE YO GUNS OUT SO DUH CHILLUNS CAN PLAY WITH 'EM IN DUH BATHROOMS :heart_beat_2:
@Some German Guy @theo h. mann Yep, that's the right solution - you usually figure that out *after* asking "what should I have done," and not before.

Taking the pan off the heat is usually sufficient. Depending on what was in the pan, dumping it all in the sink would probably have done well enough - especially if you can hit it with water from the faucet. Because the fire is just in the pan, taking it and running outside with it works.

There were so many ways to solve the problem - even if they weren't optimal - that she should've been able to think of at least *one*.
mixing hot burning oil with water is a bad idea.

@Some German Guy @theo h. mann Depends on what's in the pan. If she fucked up in that particular fashion, might not've been any oil in the pan.
look at the video again, there was burning liquid in the pen she tried to dump into the sink.
the video i posted was exaggerated by the firefighters to make the point by using a deep fryer full of oil, but even a normal pen with just some oil is enough for a small steam explosion that will hit you.
@Some German Guy @theo h. mann Oh right - that explains the flare-up when she put the pan in the sink, too. It looks like the sink was full of water, and that's why everything went to shit so fast.
@Christmassy Merry Dude smart thinking tho
@theo h. mann It was a little risky, and it was suboptimal. Lid on the pan is right, but I hadn't learned that trick yet.
@Christmassy Merry Dude @theo h. mann only issue i have seen in My life beyond me burning food' from time to time was this time of of My Friends was frying Chilis in My appartment to use in a salsa
Sadly said place didnt have good ventilation so all the chili fumes we're stuck inside while everyone including me were coughing and crying
