Why I dont use speech to text: "Call if urgent" --> "Call if virgin" Generally a terrible look as a male doctor.
@46cd5609 Once upon a time, I was a child who did not know how to type, and so I used the classic hunt & peck method. Then I took a typing class, after which I could make mistakes much faster. I graduated from hunt & peck to seek & destroy. Here in the modern world, I have learned that swipe input is so much faster on mobile devices, so now seek & destroy has become a voluminous deluge of incoherent gibberish. it might be better to use a random number generator to select from a dictionary
@46cd5609 I was once seeing a baby for ER follow up, and I pulled up the child's X ray from the visit. The radiologist meant to call for "further evaluation" because the adult facility techs had not done a great job with the baby. Speech to text had transcribed "further violation needed." I read that to the mother and she nearly fell off her chair laughing. "That's exactly what it was!" she said. And that's why I never used speech to text either.
