Piracy is on the rise again, which should be no surprise, given price hikes. How long until the majors are forced to consider value for value? https://dataprot.net/statistics/piracy-statistics/
eMule rules!
Piracy is ethical and justified.
The article lacks a “deeper moral understanding” of the legal streaming providers and their presumed subscription value. Completely glosses over why it exists.
I am so triggered so early in the morning.
Interesting that they seem to assume all pirated content would have been sales of not for the piracy when compiling the what does it cost us figures. Interesting as in seemly dead wrong.
Ok ok easy self “To be able to calculate how much exactly is lost to digital piracy, this study took into account a minimum replacement rate of 14% and a maximum rate of 34%. This calculation was derived on the assumption that 66% to 86% of digital piracy doesn’t actually replace paid consumption.” Wonder how they came to those figures
