I don't like the term "FUD", meaning "fear uncertainty and doubt".
Or more broadly, I think it's over-used. When people criticize something, a common response is "that's just FUD".
But, you *should* feel fear, uncertainty, and doubt sometimes about any given thing. That's healthy. That's what makes you not in a cult. And addressing that fear, uncertainty, and doubt in an honest way, and constructing a sense of probabilities from that, is what builds conviction to move forward and invest time or money into that thing.
I agree its maybe overused. My definition of FUD is deliberately using debunked critiques of bitcoin to win an anti-bitcoin argument
Please stop FUDDING "FUD" it gives me FOMO!
FUD is a sales technique. The other side should do PRR: Pause Reflect React.
Here’s Lyn again, droppin truth 💪🏻
Thank you for talking about this. I have always thought those who shout FUD at anyone who expresses doubts or concerns about something are behaving in a cult-like way. After all, in cults, questioning the narrative is not allowed. The truth does not object to scrutiny.
doubt pops up but fear ,uncertainly not so much
I think I'm in a "Lyn" cult. Love you Lyn!
Please keep spreading the rational thoughts.
Bitcoin is at the end of the correction. It's already down 20% from the highs and we'll have some more downside to happen from here.
If the correction continues, then I think the zones between $59-63K are essential to watch.

Yes, experiencing a lot of fear, uncertainty, and doubt about how people will survive the collapse of western finance and government.

There is a difference between reasonable FUD like you are talking about, and fomenting unwarranted FUD.
When I hear/read someone saying something is FUD I assume they mean hyperbolic fearmongering.
exactly. agree. because bitcoin people sometime feel like fanatics. especially when they suddenly know how to end any war
I saw a post awhile back about Vitalk dumping a bunch of the ETH premine on the public and a popular shitcoiner called it FUD. I thought it was funny because he wasn't disputing the truth. He was saying that although it's entirely true, that truth introduces fear, uncertainty, and doubt in the bag holders.
Feeling fear, uncertainty or doubt & expressing concerns is one thing.
I think some people enjoy triggering an emotional response in people. They take some information, make a whole suite of assumptions & then weave a story around it. It feeds engagement & gives them a little dopamine hit.
I think calling out FUD online is also pretty pointless. These highly emotional reactions to events tend to dissipate with time.
It's not used correctly from a logical and grammatical standpoint to begin with. F, U &D are emotions and thought processes, but it is used about information intended, (and often about information not intended), to cause such emotions and thought processes.
agreed.
i sense there are a lot of other 3 letter acronyms, we'd be better off without 🙃
Me each morning: wakes up.
My mind: here is a million ways your life will be fucked today
Me: ok better get up and at least get dressed for this disaster
Hey Lyn, unsure what to do with this, but an imitator is out there sub-noting (seen sub-noting @jb55 )
