Any good books on the history of the measurement of the speed of light?
Clark's not stopping at the dasbboard he wants to rewrite the laws of physics
 👀
Not a book, but Veritasium has a good youtube video on the subject. (Though I hesitate to recommend him now as he's gotten a bit cringe lately.)
In Stephen Hawing’s book there are many references to the speed of light and how it began to be measured.
If you're ever at the US Naval Academy you can walk by Michelson Hall (the science building) outside of it you will see some small metal disks in the walkway. This are placed in their original locations on the old sea wall (since land filled) where Michelson conducted his experiment to accurately measure the speed of light.

Veritasium has a video on that (not a book, but a top youtubber on physics) https://youtu.be/pTn6Ewhb27k?si=yhNnh2qXiCxjeH_7
Ed Mabrie has talked about this quite a bit
On Earth or through more/less dense mediums?

Such a fascinating topic as it effects where we think we are in relation to everything else.
 Is Walter Russell's work relevant?
