when BLM was the thing, the google assholes put a top bar on every page of https://go.dev/pkg saying black lives matter still, namecheap has a huge thing about ukraine at the top bolt ridesharing service startup screen has a heart with ukraine colours makes me not want to use any of these things... thankfully the go dev page stopped that, and i use namecheap but that thing makes me want to not use it, and bolt was useless on this island anyway so i just stopped using it once i got away from the noisy hot south side

it's advertising of another kind, there's no way that the executives who call the shots don't get some kind of benefit from this somewhere in the picture corrupt people don't move without lubrication
i mean, it doesn't always work, either, think of the bud light fiasco more than likely, the execs who called to have this shit done were paid off it has almost destroyed the company but the execs are not feeling that, just all the poor buggers whose jobs are now basically all but gone, if not already they have been fired
they get bonuses and back room handshakes and deals, of course that's how all this stuff moves along and the clones buy into it without ever knowing because they'd rather not know.
right, so it's got two parts: 1. the NPCs are more likely to choose the product that wears their brand 2. the people who profit from increasing division in society drive the wedge deeper and create new anchors to trigger robotic reactions from the NPCs, and trolling the rest of us, who see it as obvious manipulation, creating a sense of fear at being dominated... like the same deal with the covid thing, increasing the contrast between the in group and the out group and terrorising the out group
