im still confused how a conflict about naming can even result in a repository being taken down (generally this is reserved for spreading copyrighted material), but one thing i do know is that the quickest way to become really unpopular in a FOSS oriented community is to wave your intellectual property dick around 

 GitHub is centralized. That's the real problem here.
