 Hopefully it was renewed. Normally GoDaddy gives you a grace period. 

 Fingers crossed. Would have picked it up for the community if it was still available and returned it to the original owner worst case scenario

 I own enough domains. Plus, I don't like the name. A Nostr address isn't any sort of verification.

 @LynAlden runs her own website so it would be fairly easy to set it up to verify a NIP-05 address. A lot of us could help. 

 We should probably move away from these addresses..

 Just shows how flawed nip05 is and especially when not a domain you control 

 I think it’s a big misunderstanding, not a flaw. 

nip-05 is just a way to alias a pubkey with a domain name. that’s it.

using a nip-05 provider you don’t control is like hosting your blog on facebook or blogger. they can rug you at anytime. but that doesn’t mean the capability is flawed, it means you chose a custodian. 

 the problem is clients show nip-05 as a “verified” checkmark like twitter. there is no verification on nostr. it’s permissionless.

 If you run a node, you can run a self hosted Nostr Address. Services are cool but so is having your own

 Most likely, it all depends on the host that you use, but you can create a directory and drop a file on there, yes. I've helped people do this.
