The Jehova's Witness kids who came to my door today saw the "Hippies Use Side Door" plaque over the bell, decided they weren't hippies and stayed by the front door. At least we had something to talk about that wasn't just me saying "Please leave." https://cdn.masto.host/glammrus/media_attachments/files/111/030/318/267/708/748/original/862a8cc24c7891ac.png
@8b189dd1 In the summer after I dropped out of college, I was working afternoon and overnight shifts and some Mormon missionaries came to our door. My dad was a minister, so I invited them in, offered them so coffee (😃) and asked them to read me Galatians 1:8. They fled, but the next day their boss showed up to ask if he could schedule a time for me to scare all of his newbies on their first day.
@8b189dd1 Every time we move, the JW's are the first visitors we get. I always thank them for being friendly. But moving here, we got a lot of evangelicals. I finally started saying we were Buddhists because they never seemed to have a come back for that one. 🤷
