I think you are dealing with a category error: #TonyBlair is not a political economist... he's something else.
Political economy, may often differ from mainstream #economics, but that primarily because it rejects the lack of social context & history baked into a lot of economic theory.
Political economists have a pragmatic engagement with economics & to my mind the best economics *is* political economics!
@43d7c4ea Apologies. I should have put “political” in quote marks. I meant politicians who twist economics to their own agenda. Poor choice of words on my part.
