I think you are dealing with a category error: #TonyBlair is not a political economist... he's something else.

Political economy, may often differ from mainstream #economics, but that primarily because it rejects the lack of social context & history baked into a lot of economic theory.

Political economists have a pragmatic engagement with economics & to my mind the best economics *is* political economics!
