If Bitcoin is good money, then it will be adopted by governments. You cannot stop them, the same as they can't stop you. This is the whole point. Bitcoin is for enemies. How you feel about the state embracing or attacking Bitcoin is completely inconsequential. Notes criticizing Bitcoin for being adopted more widely are nothing more than a virtue signal to the larp tribe. It achieves nothing but demonstrating you don't understand what Bitcoin is. Gm
True, but let's not grovel. It's game theory playing out. In actuality the politicians hands are going to be forced to adopt, or fall out of relevance. It's more of the Sovereign Individual scenario also. I honestly didn't think it would happen this quickly though. Maybe I'm wrong about the speed/ acceleration though.
Gm
That's true and good. The problem is on an individual level if you are a simp cheering on government/politicians although you know they created the problem in the first place. And/or try everything just to pump price throwing cypherpunk, open source and Bitcoin ethos under the bus. GM.
Let them simp, we'll write the code 🧑💻🧑💻🧑💻 On that note I do need to brush up on my php, it's been a while, maybe some new PRs coming to the greenfield sdk 🫡😎
I agree 100%. Bitcoin being adopted is good, no matter who or what. What I find cringe and embarrassing are conferences cheering for politicians, governments, custodians, ETFs, etc. Bitcoin is for enemies, yes. But since when do people clap for the people that arguably created the mess we are in? Robin Hood giving a panel on bitcoin access? Lol Again, I agree with you 100%. But what’s next? Klaus Schwab and Harari at the Bitcoin Conference giving a talk on financial privacy and freedom?
Conferences are just a fiat business like anything else, they are not a symbol of Bitcoin or represent Bitcoin. We don't have to identify with a conference. Don't care what NPCs go to or clap at any gathering. Only the code and our private keys matter imo
Couldn’t agree more! Zapped and reposted. Great reply 🫡
What privacy? The btc network is literally transparent and monitored closely by governments. Want to show Schwab the middle finger? Just use monero. https://m.primal.net/JfhN.jpg
If suits want to pump my bags, I’m with them but won’t simp for them.
Agreed. I despise politicians, but if one of them is going to shoot at me and the other is going to provide me cover I’ll show up to vote for the one who causes me less harm. There is no cost to voting so even if the return is marginal there is no reason not to participate.
Agreed, with the caveat that I love the prickly reaction bitcoiners have towards almost everything. https://i.nostr.build/LOJykhRMrv6c2w1i.gif
💯 right. It is an open source protocol with no gatekeepers so anyone can buy or mine..I don't get the hysteria around governments and banks getting onboard. 57 % is in hands of individuals, there has never been a more fair launch of financial instrument/store of value in history of humanity...nothing comes close. Smart people got in around 2008...less smart later..some still don't get it and some will never get it..it is natural and organic evolution.
BITCOIN IS A FORCE OF NATURE
Lightning wallet has stopped working in Exodus due to *regulation*. So much for freedom from regulation being a key benefit of bitcoin. #bitcoin #government
Weird my lightning node still works. Maybe using a company wallet is the problem, not lightning 🤷
Maybe. Bitcoin's actual usage is complicated and confusing and I'm not a developer, so I'm doing my best. But I'm also not computer-STUPID, and if I can't get Bitcoin to work with reasonable accessibility for real-life purposes, then the average masses can't, either. All I know is that Exodus used Wallet of Satoshi as the API provider for its Lightning Wallet, and Wallet of Satoshi said that "due to regulations" they no longer serve the U.S. 🤷 Which highlights concerns I raised several years ago. Bitcoin itself may be decentralized, but as long as the means people have to use to *access* it, either for storage or payment, are regulated, that doesn't necessarily mean that much. (I had in mind internet and cellular access, not the actual wallet access, but that possibly makes this even worse.) Fiat money is problematic for being disconnected from any concrete standard, but there's also something to be said for being able to hold physical currency in your physical pocket and hand it over physically to the owner of a physical business to procure a product or service. Cryptocurrency, by nature, will *always* require a "middleman," even if that middleman is only a device.
Monero solved that. About time for maxis to understand why we stopped using bitcoin years ago. Money in your wallet must be private. This was never a negotiable option for us because we knew this would happen. https://m.primal.net/Jfgc.jpg
