I pitched a software company on a different way to conceptualize goalie stats. They thought the idea was great, but they didn't want to invest, because their focus is on sports betting. My system would "only" benefit development & scouting.

Keep pitching. And get another meeting with their competition.  Good ideas win. Persistence wins more.
