Apparently someone at KU has developed a #PlantBased #Vegan cheese that really tastes like cow milk based cheese.

For me as a fairly new vegan, this is the *absolute* holy grail.
There are many #FakeCheese options out there and they are all revolting.

I make a mean cashew nut spreadable version but a proper cheese is still something I miss from my lactovegetarian days .
Wonder who I can ask for a taste test.. ?
(And if it's really good I'll be buying shares.)

@ad951bfd if you're even in the UK and like strong cheddar I'd recommend Cathedral City's vegan version, to me it's indistinguishable
@ad951bfd I think VioLife is very good. The feta and the shredded mozzarella.

For those of us who keep kosher, the mantra has always been "fake meat, real cheese," because the former is less revolting (or can be better rationalized*) than the latter. Anything that tips the scales in the other direction would be what we call a "neis nigla" - an open miracle.

*That is, comes in varieties that are obviously not meat, but aren't entirely repulsive for what they are.
