Is that why they're cutting down on education in the EU, Germany in particular? From what I hear certain classes will be even entirely removed from the education plan.
I can talk for Italy.. we have one of the highest percentage of functional illiteracy. Most of people can read a text without understanding the real meaning of it. More than 50% of the population doesn't know English or has a level to inform themselves besides national mainstream media. Totally fucked.
I know what you mean. Same here or to some extend in Spain too for that matter. Only very few of my friends there spoke any English and none of them really at a level where I would rather speak English than Spanish with them. In Germany they're even planning to eliminate a national school sports event because allegedly the event is discriminating the less sportive students. I think they've also mentioned removing crafts / craftsmanship classes from the education plan. Probably religion as well which might be a good one to drop to be fair.
I completely agree and can relate with you. It's a long studied and ongoing action taken on so many levels that when you start to connect the dots you start almost to not believe yourself.. but we should stay vigilant, there's to be someone doing it, even if I would looked at as a Tin Foil Hat guy. 🫂💜🍀
Agree 100% with you.
The dumbing down of general education has been going on for at-least 3 decades in the west. I know what standard we were graded against and it was measurably higher for the STEM fields. Can't talk about the humanities but I hear it's even worse.
