 Article talks about conscription for women too. This is insane, though there are roles they can play, combat is one that women should never be subjected to. All war is bad and stupid… *big sigh* …

 This is a fact!

What scares me, beyond the inevitability of these coming wars (or so it seems) is the declining birth rates worldwide. We have four (on girl/3boys) and just the maintenance of first world infrastructure is going to be challenging, not to mention having progress on the technology front at the same time with rapidly decreasing populations…

 Besides the fact that most (all?) women are not good candidates for war/soldiering, adding women to the battle endangers the men.  They will be so worried about defending and protecting the women (or sexually distracted) that they won't be focused on their job as soldiers leading to them failing at their objectives and/or being killed.
