@440af60e Idk either 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣 usually 0-1 I think.. did the dummies book ruin it for you? I felt like we were playing pretty good until I started looking into the theory to know any better 🤣 I never studied any when I played as a child.. didn’t know anything really but had fun.. I had a friend I was able to beat about every game until he quit playing and started studying theory.. when he was ready to play again I couldn’t take him.. he ended up playing tournaments.. but had fun no more..

Dude I was way into chess in my 20s. My bff at the time was very competitive and we were constantly having to improve to keep up. I actually do own a dummies book and read it. I read too much. We'd learn a new tactic and win until the other figured out a defense. I got burnt out. That's the most chess I've played in 15 years probably
@440af60e I got the dummies book to read while I was waiting 🤣 it’s confirmed my belief that I’ll never spend the time studying the theory it’d take to be a master and am satisfied being mediocre, if that. I can destroy my children and that’s what really matters.

🤣🤣🤣 despite the name it's got useful stuff
@440af60e I’m a fan of the dummies/idiots/everything about books, even the ones filled with pseudoscience.
