I just noticed snoweden. Probably the only one I would keep on that list but meh.
I liked this until you said “meh” about Snowden. That mother fucker is a legend and risked his life and freedom to tell the world a million things that we would’ve spent decades guessing about and being called lunatics. We owe him a fucking insane amount of gratitude. Hard disagree.
Oh, I wasn't saying meh about Snowden. I could see how that could be misconstrued. The meh was mostly because the rest of the people on the list are...not really relevant besides Cathie Wood at least to me. I could care less what Politicians think about Bitcoin. I'm not gonna vote for them anyways. I haven't really listened to a lot of brand personally because I kind of find him annoying, but that's just personal taste.
Ok that makes more sense. I mean from a purely “what awesome things do they have to say about Bitcoin perspective” they are mostly so-so, but I think it’s more about having tons of people who hear how it’s that #Bitcoin is deeply attached to tons of ideas and perspectives that they hear all the time. As much as it feels “watered down” for people who are deep in it, I think it’s a super important part of getting people to “get it.” I think a lot of people discount that understanding or opening up to bitcoin requires *many* touch points. Having people like this discuss how it’s important to issues they cover is a big touch point for a huge number of people. I know it’s fun to complain, but I think it’s a lot more valuable to others who don’t have our perspective than people realize.
I guess when you frame it like that, that's completely fair. When you're already balls deep in the Bitcoin then seeing shit like this is a little bit disheartening but More people will hopefully "get it" when they see their favorite politicians or influencers talking about it. I guess
lol Bitcoin2024 conference is like “just the tip” for all the bitcoin virgins or those who just started playing the bitcoin game. But long time bitcoiners get annoyed because we’re already balls deep and have both been boning super hard and then got raped through a couple of cycles and who the hell gives a shit about this amateur hour after that? 🤣🤣
Well they do have a bunch of developers, but this is literally just the most well known people and it’s not the conference for in depth developer discussions, this is for a far more general interest audience. I have my own complaints about some of their choices and it often feels shitcoin tangential, but I don’t know what issue everyone has with just generically well known people. Also Snowden is a legend and Russell Brand is fantastic, listen to him all the time.
