Sure, you and I and many on nostr understand this. 

For the new to nostr normie login/signup is a standard pattern. 
 true. i’ve lost the ability to think normal after years of software development, too 😄

but word of mouth will also do it’s thing. even though they don’t understand the protocol it will still become common knowledge that it’s smart to build on private/public keys. at least corporates will get it quick 
 I agree the ownership of identity part is key. 

Scary: “crytographic public private keypairs”
Bit more normie friendly: “own your identity”
