I just saw a great way to steep. you take two of the same cups, that nest perfect,  poke, melt, or otherwise cut small holes in one of the cups,  this will act as a strainer/colander. of course,  the holes need to be slightly smaller than the cut of tea leaves. nest the two cups withe the strainer on side the cup without holes, put in as much tea as you would for the size of the cups. (any size you want as long as they nest nicely) pour the hot water and let steep until your desired results are met. if I didn't explain this well, there clips all over the interwebs.

 Hmmm... That won't work with the mugs one got since I usually drink tea in my ceramic or stainless steel mugs. Interesting technique, though. Thank you for sharing!
