You are not representative enough. If you are not fairly technical and have funds to put upfront, LN does not really make it easy to be a sovereign user.
That's why the overwhelming majority runs towards custodial wallets or LSPs (which cannot rug so easily but are still a trusted thirdparty and can censor and know what you receive).
In most online merchants that offer both on-chain and LN, LN usually represents less than 3% of volume. That is market signaling that LN does not in fact work well for the majority.
Many prefer to bite the bullet and pay the large on-chain fees rather than lose their sovereignty and what makes bitcoin truly special.

Even as a competent user I rather wait 24hrs to have a transaction confirmed on chain than having to deal with managing a LN node, inbound/outbound liquidity, and privacy implications of receiving bs sending.
