 Ya...i feel like the root the lightning no argument is simply that normies wont learn how to use the tools or take responsibility.  Then, so be it...plenty of custodial options to choose from inside and outside lightning and accept the ruggings 🤷‍♂️   

 You are not representative enough. If you are not fairly technical and have funds to put upfront, LN does not really make it easy to be a sovereign user.

That's why the overwhelming majority runs towards custodial wallets or LSPs (which cannot rug so easily but are still a trusted thirdparty and can censor and know what you receive).

In most online merchants that offer both on-chain and LN, LN usually represents less than 3% of volume. That is market signaling that LN does not in fact work well for the majority.

Many prefer to bite the bullet and pay the large on-chain fees rather than lose their sovereignty and what makes bitcoin truly special.
