GM My 3 year old border collie died this morning after being bitten by a paralysis tick. We've just finished burying her on our property with her favourite orange ball. This is the spot where she destroyed the grass from her crazy running around. Taking responsibility for all things can be very challenging & uncertain at times. I'm so grateful for our time together & very sad to see her go. Good bye girl 💚 https://i.nostr.build/vKQw1H0emmIIsYUF.jpg
So sorry 🫂
So sorry 😞

Really sorry to hear that
🫂 when it comes down to it, so little is within our control. If we're able to give and receive love in that overlapping of existence, then we have controlled all we can. She's everywhere now & that is a beautiful thing. I know words don't help, but I am sorry for your loss.
my first own pet as a boy was a collie. 😟
Sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear. Losing a pet is tough
Yeah - it's tough. She was my kids first pet that they've lost (not counting the chickens which weren't pets). One of the reasons we got her was because their other pets are getting very old & fragile now. The corn is pumping but I don't really care. Feels weird. 🫂
RIP friend
So sorry to hear that, I know they become part of the family
That is sad news, Brisket. She may no longer be by your side, yet will be forever in your heart. https://media.tenor.com/wLSJJY4x5eEAAAAC/cody-hello.gif

My condolences. Losing a member of the family, furry or otherwise, is never easy. May she rest in peace. 🫂
You just wait! I bet that area will be the brightest greenest grass you could imagine!
sorry for your loss
my old man lost his collie to a paralysis tick 2 months ago, whilst he was staying at our place. Rex kept fighting for 4 days but succumbed in the end. It's brutal to watch. I feel for you mate. Much love
Yeah she'd been down for 3 days. I still thought she was going to make it though. She couldn't move her legs but her tail would wag when you gave her attention. The hard part is my mind is going through all the little things that I could have done better to perhaps avoid that final outcome. It's too late & it doesn't matter now, but my mind still goes there.
Oh no, I’m sorry my friend. We’ve had 2 bad tick cases already with our dogs this spring. Never had an issue before
I blame the Bandicoots for carrying them around everywhere & also Gates 😆 We've been pulling them off the dogs for months now but this was the first bad one for almost a decade. I suspect that they build a resistance to the toxin & that first bad bite can knock em hard. I had one on my chest recently & the swelling around the site was hard, hot & nasty. Not like my previous bites.
