I heard he is breaking up monopolies and allowing farmers directly to sell to the end costumers on newly created "farmer markets". It's the same all over the world: Few big retail chains control the market and the producers get the smallest share. Can't see anything autocratic here at all: Quite the opposite: it's a well meant warning towards current profiteers. ✌️
If the farmers market are a carrot, this threatening does seem to be a big "stick". However, the responsibility of the legal system is to investigate corruption and wrongdoing. I hope their legal system works well enough to protect the business owners where they are innocent. At least any business moving to El Salvador gets to see quickly if this type of government action has some balancing justice or not.
