 I’m trying to build a calendar-looking website to display events I add to a self hosted calendar (still on the fence between Radicale and Baikal).

 Those are the servers that sync your calendar and contacts. I don't think you need that for the userfacinfg website. Would an iframe embedded calendar be an option?

Without requirements it's hard to tell what is the right solution.

 One more (general) thing.
Think of yourself as a product manager in OSS. Try to come up with a product doc that explains why, what, where, when and then leave how to developers. Think of what should be in scope vs out of scope of the project. What are must haves, and what are nice to haves, etc.

 Would you be wiling to have a closer look at my idea if I put together a general description of the project? I’m struggling to find an OSS dev who has time to work on this. I sure am willing to pay for the job.
