Applying for jobs is a full time job 👩‍💻
 doesn't pay that great...
 haha 😂😂 i wish 🙏
 Brutal process. Goodluck
 Thank you 🙏🫂
 💜
 It’s so annoying
yup! these days you have to fill out all these fields instead of just adding your resume and cover letter
Fuck that I skip those 😂
 😂😂😂
Should maybe consider hiring an assistant to apply for jobs and pay a 10% commission on net first year salary for success.

Outsource job hunting
that’s actually very interesting idea 😂 wonder if anyone do that? 🤔
I know, I started writing a joke and it somehow turned out to be an interesting concept 😂
Cover letters are a special type of bitch 🫂🫂🫂🙏🏽
hahaha yes 🫂🙈 couldn’t have said it better myself.
but it’s not even just a cover letter anymore. it’s all these extra commentary fields/boxes to fill out instead which takes way longer
Ohhh Yeahh, those take forever now too 😭🫂💯 I prefer those to the cover letters though - mostly cos sometimes they don’t even read the cover letter 🙈 heartbreaking
 yes that is true 😢💔
You got this lovely! 🫂🫂💜💜💜💜🥹 we all believe in you ♥️
 awww you’re the sweetest 🥺💜💜💜🫂
 🥹🫂🫂🫂♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
 🫂💜💜💜
Does HR read cover letters or are all resumes pushed through some ai selecting from some criteria
good question 🤔 I think it goes through a some sort of system first and then maybe someone reviews it if you get selected maybe
 I certainly don’t mean to discourage @Eshara
I was only asking if she knew different
I believe there is an AI selection situation with some companies - possibly all soon, but not sure. Noo that’s okay, questions are good 🫂🫂 I genuinely don’t know for sure, but it would make sense to filter though a high volume of applications this way 🙏🏽 I have heard this is likely.
 So is shitposting on #nostr
 hahaha 💯
🫂🫂🫂 Know the pain. Just been through a >200 job applications cycle. It’s a nightmare.
damn that’s impressive 🙏 how do you even manage to do that?
I would have zero mental capacity to do that in any way 😅
Just looked it up. I sent out a total of 257 applications, got 25 invites for a short zoom interview, got 7 invites for real on-site interviews in 3 different countries, which finally resulted in 2 job offers 🥵

It was kind of fun, I was just afraid that I would mentally collapse before I could start my new job…

(I work in academia)
Such a scam and waste of time.

How can this be fixed
I agree 🤷🏻‍♂️ I think I could fix it for me by stop working in academia and doing something else. How the academic system could be fixed to avoid that experienced scientists waste years of their time to find independent positions - I don’t know… Probably fiat politicians should stop printing money to fund wars all over the world.

What I also noticed recently is that there’s more and more private research labs doing the same high quality science, just without bureaucracy bullshit. But this creates another problem, namely, where’s funding coming from…
this is crazy 🫡 I’m sorry for you 🫂 no one should have to apply to this many jobs only to receive so few invitations. It doesn’t add up.
Applying for jobs should never add more stress to someones everyday life. Then it’s almost not worth it. A job is only temporary but your mental health is for life!!!

There must be a solution to this madness
😂 The solution is, get as much bitcoin as possible with your temporary fiat salary to be like: https://image.nostr.build/63d45648647e51994e988548c15ff3eed1c7990359b5b91021312d957d105326.jpg
 😂😂😂
Difficult to say what is the best part of it. Is it the ghosting after 7 interviews and 2 tests? Is it receiving an offer below what you asked in the first interview? Is it answering stupid questions by stupid people that nobody knows why they are attending the interview?
Best of luck in your job search!
haven’t thought about any of this. these are good question tho ask yourself.

thank you 🙏🫂
