WTF!! 🤦🏻♂️
My neighbor just told me that he owns a couple of pounds of gold, between coins & bars.
I said, “That’s awesome! It’s less-fuckable doomsday money.
Do you store it in a safe in your house?”
He said, “No, I have it all in a safety deposit box at my bank.”
I said, “Dude, at the bank? That totally defeats the purpose of owning gold.”
He says, “How so? What’s wrong with the bank?”
Fren, people are clueless or dumb about their wealth whether it's shiny metal rocks like gold or paper Bitcoin held on an exchange or in ETF's.

What about those 10$ wrench attacks?
I mean, if you have a combo safe in your house how much different is that than having a ledger or a cold card with a Bitcoin on it?
Why can’t people think
I ask myself that whenever I play chess: "Why did I not see that bishop! Why can't I think through these moves?!"
The old are going to have the most stolen and will not be able to fight back. Its very sad.
Unfortunately some people learning by touching stoves.
Well, he has a point. If I had to choose between my house and a safety deposit box, I would choose the latter all day.
So you just missed the roughly 10,000 various stories of bank failures, Fed safety deposit box raids, and bank employees stealing from their customers' boxes?
Why not just wear a Tshirt that says 'Trust, don't verify?'
Versus someone breaking into my house and holding me at gumpont for it? Yes.
Quit drinking the kool aid…
Ah, so you imagine that this happens to all the people around the world that hoard gold, Jewelry, and other valuables at home? All 2 BILLION of them?
The difference between a criminal that will take no risk to pilfer through boxes and one that will risk his life breaking into a home that may be armed is extremely different.
You really should think through carefully what your actual risk profile is. Everyone should, but you more than most.
It happens to as many people hoarding gold as those keeping it in a bank.
Personally, I would rather risk the slight possibility that, not only did they see what I deposited it, but they also have a way of stealing it, over the slightest chance of someone getting desperate and trying to rob my house for it.
You’re talking about risk profiles and yours is actually riskier than mine. 😂
I’m risking losing some money in order to stay safe. You’re risking your life because you think your house is safer.
I don’t suppose you’re voting for trump..
Mine is definitely not riskier than a bank box. You claimed that "It happens to as many people hoarding gold as those keeping it in a bank" but I couldn't disagree more. I'd say it happens once or twice a year to people at home (who aren't as careful as I am) but hundreds of times every month for various reasons to safety deposit boxes somewhere. If for no other reason than simple bank robberies.
Do you have stats to back up your claim?
I'm not a voter, by the way.
Send him some links... Not just the bank failures but the actual banks stealing from their customers' safety deposit box stories. I've seen at least 3 since I've become a bitcoiner.
