German culture instills a strong sense of following the rules in its citizens. I wonder if that's one of the reasons why so many Germans are Bitcoiners...
And then there is the German Civil Disobedience Movement, which is getting more orange day after day.

This was one of the main reasons why I left Germany in the first place
Maybe we should be worried about the German government banning Bitcoin?
There are 3 countries where trying to ban #Bitcoin will seriously backfire. 1. Germany 2. Netherlands 3. Finland
The older you get, the more we understand when to break the rules. And then we teach our kids. I have hope for the next generation.
Germans hate corruption - breaking the rules
That's definitely one reason they like Bitcoin
West Germans have a lot of money to lose.
East Germans had 40 years of socialism.
Not because of rules.
I think it's more like Argentina. They have a very strong precedent (even if ages ago) of hyperinflation. But I think it's reinforced by their love of cash, and giving the government as little information profiling as possible. They've learned their lesson. I'm sure that's why there are so many #monero users AND nodes as well. Plus they have a very strong hacking community.

Japanese culture may even be more about following the rules. You can make a comparison.
I heard it (also) has something to do with the memory of the Weimar Republic hyperinflation still being relatively vivid, with stories being passed on from previous generations.
That, and because they're tired of financing the whole Europe thing.
this must be a trick question. since when is bitcoin "following the rules"
From a concensus point of view I get it but culturally Bitcoin is still very out there. Perhaps Germans are more sensitive to monetary debasement with the history of Weimar era inflation and more recent EU spending?
Mexican living in Germany since almost 10 years. I wouldn't say they love following rules, it's more about pragmatism and efficiency.

Germans hate chaos and love efficiency (see german cars). My two cents is that they suppose there's a reason why rules exist and know that as long as they follow them chaos will be kept to a minimum degree.
