I keep forgetting that happened. There was a time when reddit was tolerable. Maybe around 2014
also the nato think tank seizing control + the account that Ghislaine Maxwell was probably running makes a lot of sense
Reddit was always for performative soyboys since the day it went live
there was a point when they allowed stuff like /srs
It's ok we forgive you for being a redditor in the past. Some of my best friends were previously redditors! https://i.poastcdn.org/43c397b358d407c1d7c2e93e3a6dfc1626604848fee5bc9ff5a94ba29b17dbaf.png
haha, no I've never been a redditor, and I've not actually been a channer either
I went in reddit once, awful. It's just faggots talking about fucking animals or kids. 4chan I still goto, but it's not as great as it was in 2004-2008 https://cdn.nicecrew.digital/3083a13e013c384a7facd84ecbad2a8cd9a9b94ca576ae4cb5cf938234644b20.jpg
don't get me wrong, I absolutely followed the HWNDU saga, but I did not participate in it.
>I went in reddit once, awful. It's just faggots talking about fucking animals or kids. 4chan I still go to Obviously you've never been to /b/ or /tv/ at 3am
I only use /k/ and /pol/
They're both honey pots.
I will always think that the worst thing Reddit did was centralize forums. The amount of shit that has disappeared because a subreddit gets taken down is fucking ridiculous. We used to have individual little forums for every single little topic you could think of. But now it’s on Reddit, and it’s fucking dead.
I used to go there for niche interests but the user base is dead. Not to mention politics being injected into every little thing. Same issue with twitter. I've blocked so many political accounts but the algorithm keeps shoveling bait into my feed every day.
I know exactly what you mean, the dedicated forums always had more specialized knowledge and regulars who were the go-to guys for tough questions. When everything moved to reddit the specialized, knowledgeable regulars didn't follow and everything became more generalized, discussion of more interesting ideas died and was replaced with shitty memes or attention seeking posts that might as well be spam. The restructuring of image shack and photobucket also did a huge number to them (all of the good posts and tutorials are useless without pics). Also, most of the forums now all seem to be owned by the same handful of companies. Like they all got bought out by a few groups, implemented new rules and now they're pretty dead. I miss me forums.
One I used to frequent is now a dead tapatalk page and all of the links and pictures are dead. Want to put back in the content stripped out of Boktai DS? Well I guess you’re going to have to do it from fucking scratch, because the people who did it before you had their website trashed.
For those who are curious, you had to open the .nds file in a packaging manager, Go to a specific part of the package, and overwrite the American files with the Japanese files. And then drop in a custom translation file to switch the text that you just overwrote with English again.
the irony is that it made forums easy to find/index but destroyed most of their value.
