There are literally social media consultants that have researched and concluded that our monkey brains click on those thumbnails more
All these college students have to do something with their degree
Its blank..
I'm guessing you also have image preview turned off 😁
I think it took a bit longer to load on my side
The algorithm is a glutton for heightened emotions displayed in thumbnails. It's visual clickbait.

The deeper questions is why people tend to click on it more, what are you, 5? lol
There's a lofi version of this on Tiktok that I find pretty funny. I often lecture people on the fact that these applications are designed to maximize the value of reactions, almost to an arbitrarily silly extent, such that you can game the default human-computer interaction that occurs.
In 2004 there was a big Madison Ave marketing meeting. All the major firms participated. The agreement they came to, "bring it all down to the 5th grade level". That is a true story, not something I made up. Why? Because most people are idiots and it works is why. So it is natural YouTubers figured it out too. nostr:note1fd56szkcawfr0lv9slln7035hejhxv8c9p9l2vy4lslmdcw2enhss6w2k7
