@6b8a25fc @7dca5aa2 so the last time I was looking for a job I had a theory that companies were falsely posting jobs. 

I think it has to do with internal budgets.

I think they post jobs with no intention of hiring externally. And then it shows that on the books that they have openings and they save money because they allocate more money to “new hires” vs “internal transfers” or whatever. 

This is just what I’ve noticed from the two fairly large companies I’ve been with.

I’ve also noticed that if I applied as “mixed race” I was more likely to get calls from recruiters.
