Some of my findings from my tour with the #Brompton from Sweden to Graz in Austria. (1) 20 kilogram of luggage works fine. (2) The Brompton rolls firmly on all kinds of surfaces. (3) I could ride up to 7% on paved roads. When steeper, I had to push. (4) Crossing the Alps was no major problem. All in all, I had to push about two hours. This was mainly getting up Koppen Pass on a gravel road between Obertraun and Bad Aussee in Austria. #BikeTooter #BikePacking #BikeTouring #BicycleTouring https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/056/175/751/634/287/original/ec1d259491fc7f58.jpg
@e2c04242 Mojn! Love your trip reports! Possibly you have mentioned it elsewhere and I had not read it: What gears does your Brompton have? Looks like hub gears with 3 gears? Have a good ride!
@e2c04242 Cool! How did the tyres hold up? I personally found the std marathons quite capable up to mud, where they show quite a normal city bike behaviour. Any flats? #brompton #BikeTooter #bikepacking #biketouring #bicycletouring
@e2c04242 Great. With another, smaller chainring I managed to take steeper streets while I was crossing the Alps. #Südfahrt2022 https://www.komoot.de/collection/1567621/-mit-dem-faltrad-durch-die-alpen-suedfahrt2022 https://f2.tchncs.de/media_attachments/files/111/059/557/913/332/950/original/e0f0a6bf936ea1c7.jpg
