There is something that has bugged me for a while: everyone's talking about the Putin interview with varying opinions. Shortly before there was a lot of media attention on the coverage of Carlson visiting Russia. But I have seen nobody remark on the *kind of* reactions the Russian citizens made. A lot was said about honesty, about how Tucker Carlson is sincere and dares to be truthful. I think people forget and/or underestimate the impact of the west's behavior towards the Russian people, e.g. if the propaganda and misrepresentation reaches these people. They will also hear the lies that are being spread about them. This has been going on for years already. I would think these interview reactions and the coverage, is in part because of how they are generally being misrepresented. I cannot disprove that I may be making up details or misinterpreting reactions. I just think these reactions were interesting in a way that noone seems to notice.
The main hot take was that Putin is ready to talk about peace negotiations. The rest was posturing about what America should do. Project power, Russia is strong blah blah blah. Trump goes to prison, Russia is labeled a terrorist state for siding with Iran against Israel, And the pecking order is clear.
